Severed is a Canadian take on the zombie film. It’s not very original and stars no one even remotely famous. The acting isn’t terrible but there is nothing of real substance in this film.
A group of lumberjacks are clear cutting a forest and run into some environmentalists who are protesting the fact that trees are being cut down. Things go awry when some weird sap starts leaking out of one of the trees and a guy cuts himself. See where this is headed? The sap gets into this dude and he turns into a goddamn zombie. The plot goes downhill fast from here. The environmentalists and the lumberjacks end up fighting off zombies and some heads explode. Then, a fat dude shows up drinking beer and all these other dudes get involved. A guy and a hippie chick make out and I hit fast forward because it was a total snoozefest. Even after fast forwarding through the last 40 minutes of the film, I can still say that this was a waste of time.
